Jorge Allen - Saxophone

Jorge Allen is a saxophonist and composer from Andover, Massachusetts. He began playing saxophone at the age of 10 and has been playing music ever since. His professional playing experience includes performances at New England venues such as Jimmy's Jazz and Blues Club (Portsmouth, NH), and One Longfellow Square (Portland, ME). He holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Southern Maine. As an artist he believes music should serve to reflect life experience, not detract from it. Through his compositions and improvisation, he strives to create a sense of immediacy, realism, and catharsis. Some notable musical influences include John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, MF DOOM, and Nina Simone.
