
David Hession - Trombone
David Hession is a trombone player based in Portland, Maine, who earned his degree in music performance at the University of Southern Maine’s Osher School of Music. Studying under Chris Oberholtzer and Brian Diehl, he developed an appreciation for creative improvisational music that spans across genres. Notable influences for David include: Thelonius Monk, Kalia Vandever, Eberhard Weber, Antonín Dvořák, and Pema Chödrön. Outside of playing in Alma June and the Persian Cats, David also teaches trombone, and performs with El Malo and the Dirigo Trombone Quintet.
